Checkers is a popular game known and played by the people of Kuwait for decades. This golden game enjoyed widespread popularity among Kuwaitis in cafes, gatherings, on the roadside, and even on ships during pearl diving or trading voyages across the seas. A checker player must be patient throughout the game and with their opponent, as it requires mental strategy and deep thinking. It is considered a mental sport, requiring the player to plan and know how to advance into the opponent's territory, sacrificing some of their own pieces. They must be aware of and penetrate the opponent's territory to obtain the "Sheikh of Checkers."

The "Sheikh of Checkers" is the term used to describe the piece that reaches the end of the squares after capturing (eating) all the pieces in front of it according to specific rules. The opponent then considers another tactic to stop the "Sheikh of Checkers'" advance, aiming for a perfect balance between their own piece and the opponent's pieces, or to devise a counter-attack.

The game can last from an hour to more if both players are experienced and intelligent.
